Bringing y’all up to speed

HELLO FRIENDS!!!! It has been YEARS since I was active in this world, and a lot has changed since you last read my blog posts! I am going to try to catch you up, as well as I possibly can!

I guess the first thing I should let you know is that I went through a pretty yucky split last spring/summer. Honestly, it had been a long time coming, and only one of us wanted to fight for it. As most may know, one person fighting for a relationship is never enough.

The kids and I dealt with a lot of emotions attached to feeling abandoned. I cannot legally say that we were abandoned, but we had issues and feelings related to abandonment and betrayal.

It was nasty, it was hard, it hurt, but at the end of the day, I THANK GOD IT HAPPENED TO US!!!!! After our court order was signed in August (we had seen the judge in July but adjustments had to be made to the final order before it was completed), I bought a house for the kids and I! This was all very exciting and fun! DAY ONE of the kids living in their new home, and it was like I had brand new children! They were no longer in the pains of instability and drowning in their feelings of abandonment. It was just SO RIGHT. Almost perfect, actually! A fresh start!

This piece of the story is out of order to keep the story above simple, but after the judge signed our court order in August, I immediately met and started dating JP (aka Joshua). We’re talking like a few days after the order was signed. But like I said, it had been over for years, and also we had an official court date back in July. Potato potato, but I just want to make it clear that I did not date until everything was final legally speaking.

It was a real whirlwind, I’m talking we were OBSESSED WITH EACH OTHER. Every single lunch break the man had, we would race down the road to spend lunch together! Inseparable is a good word for it.

He had it all! EXTREMELY FUNNY, insanely smart, great job (because he’s good at it), had his life in order with a home and a car to go with it. AND HE LOVED CATS. That was my first mistake with the last one, lack of kitty love. Lesson learned!!!! You’ve got to know how to pat the puss (shout out to Erika Jane) properly to be a truly good attentive man.

So here’s your timeline on that relationship:

Met in August 2016

Engaged in October 2016

Married in October 2016 by a pastor named Betsy 😂😂. Also, my new name is Bell Price!

Obtained a great custody arrangement for my step son, Cooper, who is now 21 months old in April 2016. Cooper was 15 months at the time the custody was set in place.

In May 2016 we tragically lost my sweet Otis, my kitty LOVER. He got outside and hasn’t been seen since. It was a huge heartbreak and loss to me. I grieved that kitty being gone like I would grieve a family member, and I NEVER thought I’d say that in my entire life. I am NOT one of those people who say “oh pets are just like kids and their lives are as important”. I’m just not. It’s ok if you are, but it was just never how I operated.

In June, we fostered a sweet, floppy, fluffy kitten named Millie, who we took in for forever. She was THE SWEETEST EVER!

In July, we were given a kitten. My friend found me this kitten INTENTIONALLY. We didn’t even really know each other at the time except via the internet, so I’m 900000% sure this was a god thing. He knew how heartbroken I was, and spoke to Stacy, who, in turn got me Gizmo. This situation was all to perfect for it to be not God sent. He’s the most unique kitty I’ve ever had, besides Oats. He is a Norwegian forest cat with extra toes, and our connection is INSANE. It’s not normal. You only get one kitty relationship like what we have in a lifetime. Codependent is an understatement with Gizmo and I. He helped fill the fuzzy otis shaped hole in my heart.

In late July, we found out that we were expecting Baby Price! We were Extremely excited!!! OVER THE MOON!!!!!

In early August, Harper started kindergarten!!!

This next one is rough. I’ve even gone ahead and made a blog post to document it, so that after you read this, you can hear the full story.

In late August, our little baby went to be with Jesus. I was not ok. I am now, but I was not then. Gizmo laid with me 100% of the time, and would lick my tears off my face when they’d pour out while he purred and snuggled my face. Millie, our kitty had been sick WEEKS prior to this with something our vet couldn’t figure out. Millie left to be with Jesus the night after our baby went to be with Jesus. She laid on my belly for hours while I was in labor like pain the days prior. It was like she left with the baby to watch after him/her/them.

In September, we went on our honeymoon in Mexico!

…and here we are in October, celebrating our one year anniversary! WOOHOO!!!

There you have it, people, you are up to speed!!!!

Our birth video

We are so lucky to have such a talented family member, McKenzie, with Mckenzie Miller Films to document our special arrival!

This video was so special to me because when you have a C section, you miss the first hour of your baby’s life while they finish up on you in the operating room. I get to see what I was laying there wondering about and imagining. I get to see the first time I *really* hold John Tyler. It’s an amazing piece of time to have forever! Every time I watch it, I find myself taking a deep breath when I am holding him on the video, because I see myself literally breathing him in and smelling him, while thinking I finally get to SMELL you!

Thank you so much, McKenzie!

Don’t you just love how Harper is all like “oh, room 20 is THIS way, lets go!”

I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I have!

Welcome to our new nursery!

I kept going back inside this room and thinking…I can’t post pictures yet, I need to add stuff! We are finally passed the adding stage! Your room is ready for you, Baby!

What I love most about the room is what we paid to do it! All of the furniture was refurbished from stuff we were given or already had with a good coat of paint! The only 2 major expenses from us were the curtain fabric, paint, and the animal heads.

 • The paint on the walls: Plain white and Owl grey (from benjamin moore) were used for our stripes. (I just measured 13 inch stripes and taped them with frog paint)
 • The mint paint used for the crib, toy chest, and door painting is called Sea Glass from Martha Stewart.
 • The yellow paint for the dresser and Dr. Seuss painting was a mixed bag of nuts. I basically found a swatch with 3 different shades of yellow and didn’t really like them. So I started to mix them together in certain variations to get what I wanted. I did the top drawer and base the lightest yellow, then one shade darker for each drawer.
 • The animal heads are form Z galleria.
 • The curtain fabric is called corn yellow from Hancock’s or JoAnn’s fabrics (I can’t remember which one!)
 • My mother in law made the curtains.
 • My mother made the cushions for our glider, the pillow, and one of the crib blankets.
 • I made the stencil paintings.
 • I also made the mobile from paint chips! It cost me about 6$ total to make. 🙂 There are lots of DIY tutorials on how to make them on your own.

I’m sure I am leaving out stuff, but if you want to know about something I didn’t list, send me a comment and I will tell you where it came from! 🙂

I hope you like it!

37.5 Week Post

I just realized I haven’t done a milestone post since back in Nam.

Actually, my content level is fair to poor lately.

It’s because I really don’t have anything nice to say, so I’m taking the nothing at all route. How bratty did that sound?

I’m nearing the end, and fighting to make it or preferably break (my water) it.

38 (because that’s what he measures in ultrasounds- AHEAD!) week stats:

Here’s the bump:

20130321-135232.jpg

Size of the baby:

7 (I think mine is more) pounds and 20 inches. One site says the size of a celery bunch, but how do they know the size of my Publix’s celery bunch?

Weight Gain:

Enough. Enough to stop this train to fat town!! Make it stop!! When the nurse weighed me a couple of weeks ago, her reaction was this: “We need to go back on the scale because I don’t think that number was right”. Shut up, you work here lady, you know better than to say that to the pregnant bison on your scale!

Gender: In case you missed our gender reveal video:

Movement:

All day everyday. And violent. His size shows with the force he’s able to deliver me! My dentist was cleaning my teeth and noticed my stomach jolting!

What I miss:

Being skinny, being comfortable, being able to sleep without worrying about what I haven’t accomplished during the day. This usually prompts me to get up and clean something random at 2am.

Cravings:

 • Chinese food.
 • Sprite.
 • Waffle House.
 • Chick fila ice cream cones.
 • Shaved ice.
 • Momma G’s sandwiches. Specifically the “Big Momma”.

Symptoms:

 • Worse hip pain.
 • Still have back pain, but it is easing off slowly.
 • Really sore wrists! From using them so often to pull or push myself up from a laying or seated position!

Today we got this in our chinese food:

So I decided to take a friend’s advice and walk. She walked 45 minutes, but I figured that I could get away with 25 minutes since I was wearing a baby and walking a dog. That makes sense right?

We walked another day too:

I also did squats. But I’m not sure I did as many as I should. They may not have done squat.

The one where I post videos

I’m much too lazy to write anything worth reading these days so I decided to share some of our home videos!

Harper has taken her dancing to the next level:

She also figured out that monsters don’t live in the closet, The Daddy lives in closet:

I really wish I had gotten the closet thing on video the very first time he did it! She jumped so hard that I was for sure she had soiled herself. Then started hysterically laughing! Maybe if we wait a few days I can capture a similar reaction! Whoever says it’s not fun to scare babies is SO wrong! 🙂

Hope you enjoy our videos!

15 Months

_____________________15 MONTHS____________________

Dear Harper,

You are now 15 months old!!! In 3 more months, you’ll be a year and a half old! That’s crazy.

I felt like I needed to post on what you’re up to now, because you have changed SO much since your first birthday, there’s no way I could remember it all if you keep it at this rate!

This year you were old enough to have some real Valentine’s day fun with us! Last year, you were too tiny to do anything but cuddle with us, which was great. This year, you set up your very own kissing booth and wore your great grandmother’s necklace to bring in the big bucks!

IMG_6812

You also made this sweet card for The Daddy:

IMG_7288

This is also the month you started TO WALK!!! You look like a drunk guy when you walk around, but you’re so cute nobody cares if you look like a drunk.

IMG_7263 IMG_7275

You’ve also really stepped up your boogie moves the last 3 months. When you hear the music start to play, you high tail it to your stage AKA our ottoman, climb on top, and shake it!! You’ve even started to stand on it and dance this week. While I find it a little scary and have tiny strokes every single day, you LOVE it. You even think it’s funny to fall off the ottoman, so funny, that you do it on purpose now. Maybe we will get you a helmet for your 1.5 year birthday.

IMG_7281

You are an active participant in peek a boo.

IMG_7283

And we got you (and daddy) a new puppy this month. You were really excited about him the first couple of days, but I think you’re a little hesitant that he is taking away your attention now, so you just ignore him if you can. Sometimes you can’t because he’s all up in your biz.

IMG_7353 IMG_7373 IMG_7391

You are also getting acquainted with your very own potty! You tinkle in it about 8-10 times a day, and after I tell you “YAY YOU PEE PEE AGAIN!” you will clap and say YYYAAAAAYYYY!!!!! I hope you keep the good work up because it’s really saving a lot of diapers and wipes!

Potty training is also where you learned how to HUG ME! When I stand you up to put your pants back on, you throw your arms around me and lean in as hard as you can, it’s probably the sweetest thing ever. It’s even sweeter if you’re not getting off the potty! 🙂

Here are some NEW things that you say to us now:

 • Good girl!!!
 • Yay!!!!!
 • Bah bah bah bah baaaahhhhhh (this means bite. it means feed me lady, stop eating all the food in front of my face ya pregnant bison!!)
 • Thank you. (This JUST happened!)
 • Noooooooooooooooooohhhhh!!! We really encourage this one. Which is strange because usually parents aren’t excited to hear their kids say NO, but your noooohhh is so cute, we just have to repeat it every time you say it!
 • Ay yay yay! (as you slam your palms to your forehead to show your frustration)
 • AND YOU STARTED SAYING MAMA AGAIN!!!! You forgot MAMA for several months! I was starting to wonder if you’d ever start saying it again, but no worries, I’M BACK IN THE GAME!!

I can’t say it enough, no matter how bad my day was or what went wrong, you will always make me smile every day! You’re such a sweet personality and you even know if I’m feeling sad, you will come and sit in my lap to make me feel better. You really are such a good girl!!

XOXO
